SOP adopts a spatial strategy that reveals, rather than retreats from, the architectural rhythm of the street. In particular, the exposed piloti structure a recurring element in the neighborhood is embraced rather than hidden. These vertical supports establish a dialogue with the rhythm of the surrounding façades, preserving visual continuity and reinforcing the relationship between architecture and the everyday landscape. This gesture transcends formal mimicry; it recognizes and respects the structural order inherent in the urban vernacular. The project reframes the street not as a neutral backdrop, but as an active participant in the spatial composition. In doing so, the project induces a quiet transformation of visual awareness intentional, yet never didactic.

SOP의 공간은 세 가지 주요 규칙을 바탕으로 구성된다. 1. 필로티 구조의 노출 : 거리에서 반복되는 건축 구조의 리듬, 특히 기둥 구조를 은폐하지 않고 그대로 드러냄으로써, SOP는 기존 거리 풍경과 시각적 연속성을 유지한다. 2. 구조와 재료를 통한 새로운 기준점 설정 : 익숙한 거리 풍경의 틀에서 벗어나, 내부 구조의 리듬과 재료의 물성으로 새로운 감각적 질서를 제시한다. 이는 방문자에게 기존과 다른 방식의 인지 구조를 경험하게 한다. 3. 천장과 바닥의 비대칭 중첩과 반사성 확장 : 천장과 바닥은 서로 다른 스케일로 중첩되어 영역성을 구성하며, 반사성과 투명성이 혼재된 마감은 외부의 풍경을 내부로 끌어들이는 확장 장치로 작동한다. 이는 물리적 경계를 넘어 시각적 개방감을 만들어내며, 내부 풍경의 다층적 감각을 유도한다.
SOP is guided by three core spatial rules: 1. Exposed Piloti Structure : The column grid an architectural rhythm deeply embedded in the surrounding streetscape is left exposed. This choice ensures visual continuity between the interior and exterior, allowing SOP to blend into the existing urban cadence while simultaneously asserting its presence.
2. New Sensory Anchors via Structure and Material : Stepping beyond the visual language of the street, SOP introduces a new spatial order through structural rhythm and material tactility. Visitors experience a perceptual shift a subtle disruption of cognitive norms as familiar environments are reframed with refined contrast and precision.
3. Asymmetrical Overlap of Floor and Ceiling + Reflective Extension : The spatial hierarchy is redefined by layered scales between floor and ceiling, creating zones of overlap and ambiguity. The use of reflective and translucent materials extends the surrounding landscape into the interior, producing visual porosity that breaks down the physical boundary and encourages layered spatial perception.
